“I wish I could show you,
when you are lonely or in the darkness,
the astonishing light of your own being. ”

What is IFS?
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a way to explore an individual’s inner family,
with its wounds,
its protective system,
and its authentic centered Self.
ABOUT IFS
IFS is an evidence-based therapeutic intervention created and developed by Dr. Richard Schwartz and thousands of others since the 1980s. Dr. Schwartz was trained as a family therapist and authored a major textbook on the subject. He learned about “parts work” by listening to the internal dialogue of his clients. The IFS Institute he founded trains thousands of therapists and coaches each year all over the world.
Amid the parts that appeared in his clients, Schwartz found that a Self emerged, a core innate center with calm, courage, creativity, clarity, curiosity, confidence, compassion, and connectedness. That Self has the power to heal. With IFS, you can build trust in Self-leadership and nurture relationships between your Self and your parts.

Through my background and training in somatic and movement therapies, I am able to integrate body awareness, breathing, and movement into the coaching sessions as needed. Regular meditation practice helps me and my clients to center and focus and to stay in touch with parts and Self between sessions.

Although many of my clients are familiar with the IFS model and the practice of parts work, knowledge of the model is not necessary to begin coaching with me. You will learn about the model in the context of your own system.

All parts are welcome and are treated as important resources. As Dick Schwartz claims, “There are no bad parts.” Each part has a positive intention for your system. Clients set the pace and determine how far and deep to explore. IFS-inspired coaching focuses less on the past, and more on the present and future, creating paths of action to pursue personal goals.
